My thoughts on 2004 season.
Hi!
I would like to express my thoughts on the 2004 season in Motogp World championship. It was an amazing year in the Motorcycle racing and as long as I have been actively watching 500cc Grand Prix and Motogp. Valentino Rossi made a bold move at the end of 2003 when he moved from Honda to Yamaha. Everybody was thinking, it will hard for him to win championship. Everybody was expecting him to win few races where Yamaha shines but not the championship. Well, as he shocked the industry and proved to Honda that it’s not just the bike but Rider skills that matter the most. He won the championship. On a different and realistically inferior bike (Yamaha M1) compare to Honda RC211V. Well, Yamaha M1 is no longer a weak bike anymore. Rossi has adapted well to the new bike and made it better to work well for his style. Yamaha M1 is a better bike that it was before and other Yamaha riders can also benefit from it. Honda's RC211V is and remains to be the strongest bike out in the field. Honda has Max Biaggi, Makoto Tamada & Tohru Ukawa, they are great riders, no doubt, but not consistent. Heck, Max Biaggi is no longer a rivalry to Val Rossi either, Biaggi ain't got nothing on Rossi. (Period)
Now, on the other hand, Honda's weapon "Sete Gibernau" is a clear danger to Rossi. Sete has got the skills, consistency and confidence to challenge Rossi to the end. This year he was the only rider that I think would have won the championship. I GOT MY FULL RESPECT FOR HIM. In fact, he is my second favorite rider next to Rossi. He is patient and rides at his 100% all the time. He is does not complain and makes the best of what he has. Bet, he will No.1 on Honda's list to get the Special Factory components. I think he got em this year too. I wish Sete Good luck for next season and he will make the show interesting.
For 2005, lots of riders have switched to diff factories. Carlos checa moved from Yamaha to Ducati. He has already started testing on the new Desmosedici GP5. Ducati let go of Troy Bayliss. Bayliss may move to Kawasaki, not sure. We will find out soon. Repsol Honda's extended their contract with Nicky Hayden (69) for 2 more (05&06) years. They have let go of Alex Barros but have announced yet the new rider. Word is, Biaggi may join Repsol Honda. Don’t know who will join Camel Honda than. Ukawa maybe. Honda desperately wants a Japanese rider to win the championship. Colin Edwards has Left Telefonica Movistar Honda and joined Gauloises Yamaha and is new teammate of Valentino Rossi. Hope he better keep up, cause he will be the 2nd rider on Yamahas list to get special bikes. Rest of the news can be read at www.motogp.com
I would like to add more to my thoughts but can’t find a proper way to express as it is dinner time and I am hungry. LoL
I can’t wait for the 2005 Season. We got time off till April 10 2004. So, we all Motogp Fans have few months to relax. I for myself will be working hard to save up for my new ride. It is still a secret. I won’t talk about it, not until the day I will go out to buy it. Meanwhile I will keep posting and updating this Blog every now and than with new and relevant news.
See ya.
